Chloride Analyzer - Labor İldam

Sherwood Model 926 is used to determine chloride ions. An instrumental analogue of Argentimetry, traditional titrimetric methods using the silver nitrate reagent. Like these classical methods, it is based on the chemical formation of highly insoluble salt, silver chloride.

For more than a century, many variations and changes have been made in the technique to improve the importance, detectability and selectivity of chloride determination. Research on chloride analysis was done by Gay-Lussac (1832), Levol (1853), Mohr (1856), and Volhard (1874), and their findings are the basis for methods that are still widely used today.
